What are autonomous mobile robots?

An autonomous mobile robot (AMR) is a robot capable of autonomously sensing its surroundings and moving within it. Unlike older autonomous AGVs, which are confined to fixed routes or rails and often require operator supervision, AMRs operate completely flexibly.

AMRs use advanced sensors, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and planning software, which continuously analyze their surroundings and move completely autonomously without the need for guiding elements. In such a case, the robot automatically slows down, stops, or chooses an alternative route to safely continue working.
